This is a wall hanging I did this past month using one PB&J mini-charm pack. For the piecing, I juxtaposed the dark pieced, angular shapes with the expanse of white background (Kona Snow). Then I freemotion quilted it on my domestic sewing machine – a Janome 8200, which I absolutely adore. I put in the skyline of downtown city buildings with the riot of plants in front of it, which is how I see downtown Portland across the river from my Southeast Portland life. I plan on making more of these Nature in the City quilts. They are small, fun, easy to manipulate on a domestic machine, and easy to store. I had problems getting the chalk pencil off so I used a lot of ecostain remover, and the white became discolored. I am trying to wash it out, but it makes it look antique so if it stays that will be fine too.
